Ingredients for Kacha aamer dal | Tok dal with arhar | Lentils with green mango:

  • 2 cups Arhar or Toor dal
  • 1 big Green mango or kacha aam cut into medium cubes or lengthwise sliced
  • 3 – 4 green chillies
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard oil or ghee
  • 1 tsp black Mustard seeds
  • 1 onion – sliced thinly

Kacha aamer dal | Tok dal with arhar | Lentils with green mango recipe:

  • Soak the lentils overnight
  • In a pressure cooker, put lentils, turmeric powder, water, salt, mango cubes and pressure cooker for 5 – 6 whistles
  • Open the lid after sometime. Start to simmer
  • Meanwhile in a tadka pan, heat oil and tamper with Mustard seeds, green chillies and onion slices
  • Pour the tadka over the dal and simmer for few more minutes until the Kacha aamer dal | Tok dal with arhar | Lentils with green mango is of desired consistentency
